On June 23, 2026, at 09:08, Incidents The administration of Nizhny Novgorod has filed a lawsuit demanding the recovery of nearly 71 million rubles in damages from the perpetrator of the explosion in a building on Fuchika Street. This was reported by the press service of the Avtozavodsky District Court.
The case concerns the reimbursement of expenses incurred by the city budget following the emergency incident. A total of 70,840,780 rubles was spent on the inspection and repair of the building, temporary relocation of residents, compensation payments, as well as security and storage of property.
Recall that the explosion occurred on March 19, 2024, in apartment No. 17 on the fifth floor of the first entrance. A fire broke out afterward. As a result, six apartments were damaged.
Eight people sought medical assistance at that time, including three children. The perpetrator of the incident was also hospitalized. Following the incident, two entrances were declared emergency. The explosion damaged the structures between the fourth and fifth floors.
From May to September 2024, emergency recovery work was carried out in the first entrance. Later, the authorities decided to fully restore the structures of the entire building. In December, the state of emergency was lifted, and residents began to return to their apartments.
In January 2026, it was reported that dynamic-geophysical tests would again be conducted in the building to check the condition of the load-bearing structures that may have been damaged as a result of the emergency.
According to the investigation, the cause was negligence in handling an explosive device that one of the residents was storing illegally. The court found the man guilty. He was sentenced to seven years in a general regime colony and fined 30,000 rubles.
The court hearing on the claim is scheduled for July 7.
