The National Research University of the Presidential Academy has become a partner of the Expert Club of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

The Nizhny Novgorod Institute of Management of the Presidential Academy was chosen as the first venue for live discussions, becoming an official partner of the project. "The Expert Club has long established itself as a center for professional dialogue, analysis of opinions and sentiments in society, and discussion of ongoing processes in the country to subsequently develop balanced decisions. We are allies and like-minded individuals in this field: over its 80-year history, the NIU has accumulated rich expertise for the government authorities of the region," said the director of the NIU of the Presidential Academy, Ekaterina Lebedeva.
The coordinator of the all-Russian project in Nizhny Novgorod, Deputy Chairman of the Public Chamber of the region, Evgeny Semyonov, reported that the federal project has been operating in the region since 2022. For several years, the club did not hold public discussions in person, limiting itself to publications in the media. Now, meetings will be held once a month at venues in the city and once a quarter at the NIU. "Today, at the initiative of many experts and at the request of journalists, we are restoring the work of public in-person expert discussions. We have a new partner - the NIU of the Presidential Academy. The institute has a powerful intellectual resource, so we decided to hold the first meeting here," added Evgeny Semyonov.
The first in-person meeting of the Expert Club after a long break took place in the format of a round table on "The 2026 Election Campaign." Experts from the NIU, Lobachevsky NNGU, the Institute of Political Technologies, the PF FNIIS of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Social Management Problems, members of the regional electoral commission, journalists, and representatives of the general public participated in its work. The round table discussed the main trends, scenarios, risks, and forecasts of the election campaign for the State Duma, the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, and the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Experts raised issues of social well-being and electoral preferences at the start of the 2026 election campaign, the political landscape and strategies of parties, the electoral potential of participants in the SVO, and the impact of AI technologies on electoral processes. Evgeny Semyonov noted that the functioning of the entire political system of the country depends on how the election campaign goes and how legitimate its results will be.
