Funding is being sought for the construction of a heated football field in Meshchera.

      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, work continues to identify sources of funding for the construction of a football field near the "Meshchersky" Sports and Recreation Center in the Kanavinsky district. This was reported by the NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" in the regional sports ministry.

      The department clarified that due to the rising costs of construction materials, the previously calculated project budget may require revision. Earlier, the construction of a new football field on Karl Marx Street was estimated at 155 million rubles.

      In July 2025, the project received a positive conclusion from the state expert review. After determining the sources of funding, the exact start and completion dates for the work will be specified. The contractor will be selected based on the results of the competitive procedures.

      According to the project, it is planned to create a football field with artificial turf and a heating system. According to the public cadastral map, the area of the land for construction is 13.7 thousand square meters. The field itself will occupy more than 9 thousand square meters. Three stands, designed for 499 spectators, will be installed around the perimeter.
