Metro builders showcased new footage of the "Yevdokiya" shield working in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On June 19, 2026, at 11:20 AM, the Metro construction workers shared new footage from the construction site of the Nizhny Novgorod metro. According to the Telegram channel "Metro NN," the tunneling complex "Yevdokiya" is operating in accordance with the regulations. The first 50-100 meters after the start, the shield passes at reduced speeds. This mode is necessary for the smooth exit of the complex from the installation chamber of the pit, passing the starting section, and adjusting the equipment.

      According to the builders, 10 reinforced concrete rings of permanent high-precision tunnel lining have already been installed. In addition, specialists have installed six temporary starting rings.

      The Metro construction workers also note that specialists continue to adapt to working with new equipment. The operators of the tunneling complex and block layer are mastering the individual features of the Chinese TBM, while the assemblers are getting used to new technological solutions for assembling tunnel lining blocks.

      Thus, the excavation of the left tunnel section towards Freedom Square continues in a regular mode. It was previously reported that an additional nearly 1.5 billion rubles will be allocated for the construction of the metro in Nizhny Novgorod.
