The Volodarsky District celebrated its 70th anniversary.

      On June 15, 2026, at 20:03 Society Over the past weekend, celebrations took place in the Volodarsky District in honor of the 70th anniversary of Volodarsk. A rich program was prepared for the townspeople and guests in honor of the holiday: a motorcycle rally, a theatrical performance, an excursion program—an immersive route through the historical part of the city, a ceremony awarding gifted children of the district with honorary certificates and letters of gratitude, as well as the winners of the "Person of the Year" contest. An important moment of the celebration was the signing of an agreement on twin city cooperation between the administration of the Volodarsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Volodarsky District of the Astrakhan Region. The document was solemnly signed by the head of the local self-government of the Volodarsky District, Dmitry Tretyakov, and the head of the Volodarsky Municipal District, Regina Ramazanova. The agreement plans to exchange experiences of local government bodies. "Volodarsk has a glorious history that is being written today. The city is developing, new industries are being launched and are operating in the territory of advanced development, and jobs are being created. This means that the city is looking to the future. This is the confidence of the Volodarsk residents in tomorrow and the opportunity to live and work where your roots are," noted in her welcoming speech the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region (United Russia faction), chief physician of Nizhny Novgorod Hospital No. 29, and Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation, Yulia Garevskaya. The economic potential of the city is based on its stable industry. Agricultural firms, flour mills, and confectionery production form the foundation of the district's well-being. The key driver of growth in recent years has been the Territory of Advanced Social and Economic Development (TOR) "Volodarsk." "Volodarsk celebrated its 70th anniversary with new achievements and large-scale plans. For the anniversary, we made a gift to the townspeople—we opened a new public space 'Volodarsk Mosaic,' the improvement of which was carried out as part of the national project 'Infrastructure for Life.' The work lasted more than a year and cost over 142 million rubles. But the main constructions are still ahead: a new general education school for 500 students and a children's art school for 150 students are already being built, with completion scheduled for 2028. Our strategy is simple: a strong economy must work to improve the quality of life for people," stated the head of the Volodarsky Municipal District, Dmitry Tretyakov.
