      During the night of June 14, 2026, the Nizhny Novgorod region was alerted about the danger of drone attacks. Local residents were informed via SMS, after which special measures and temporary bans were implemented at the airport to protect air traffic, as reported by "opennov.ru".

      Signals from relevant authorities were sent to the phones of city residents around three in the morning. The text of the notifications included a request to remain calm and not to panic. Due to the threat from UAVs, the management of the Nizhny Novgorod airport ordered a temporary halt to the arrival and departure of aircraft. Despite the adjustments to the schedule, the passenger terminal continues to operate, welcoming visitors. Airport staff and airline representatives are on-site providing support to travelers. For those waiting for flights, drinking water, access to a medical office, wireless internet, and charging stations for electronics have been prepared, and a mother and child room has been provided for passengers with children.
