On Russia Day, the public space "Kazenny Prudy" was opened in the Lukoyanovsky municipal district. The landscaping project was implemented as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life" after winning the IX All-Russian competition for the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment in small towns and historical settlements. The total funding amounted to 150 million rubles. The ceremony was attended by the head of the local self-government of the Lukoyanovsky municipal district, the secretary of the local branch of the "United Russia" party Igor Sintsov, the director of the People's Unity Fund of the Nizhny Novgorod region Pyotr Bannikov, and the dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences of N.N. Lobachevsky Nizhny Novgorod State University, chairman of the regional branch of the "Assembly of Peoples of Russia" Roman Golubin. As part of the project, sidewalks made of paving stones, asphalt concrete, and wooden decking, recreation areas, cafes, four camping houses, a boat station, a sports equipment rental point, a stage, a lecture hall, five trade pavilions, and a beach were arranged. Work was carried out to change the terrain and a modern outdoor lighting system was installed. Small architectural forms were mounted — benches, trash bins, swings, park chairs, tables, sun loungers, sanitary modules, and barbecues.
The national project "Infrastructure for Life" was initiated by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Its goal is to provide citizens with socially significant infrastructure of a new quality.
