The former Nizhny Novgorod deputy Nikolai Shumilkov's arrest has been extended.
June 11, 2026 11:21 Incidents The detention period for former State Duma deputy and owner of several management companies Nikolai Shumilkov has been extended until July 14 inclusive. This was reported by the press service of the Sormovsky District Court. The defense requested a change in the preventive measure to house arrest or release on bail, but the court denied the request. Recall that Nikolai Shumilkov was detained in April of this year. He was accused of attempting to commit commercial bribery on a particularly large scale (part 3 of article 30, part 4 of article 204 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the 64-year-old man attempted to transfer 1.1 million rubles to his partner in the management company in the Sormovsky district. In return, he expected the entrepreneur to vote for the dismissal of the current general director of the organization and the election of another candidate at the upcoming meetings.
