Nizhny Novgorod residents were presented with routes for traveling around the region by car.

On June 11, 2026, at 10:09 AM, Culture and Leisure. The Nizhny Novgorod region continues to develop automotive tourism. The region's opportunities in this direction were presented by Governor Gleb Nikitin to Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, at the International Tourism Forum "Travel!" (0+) in Moscow. According to the regional government, more than 190,000 auto tourists visited the region in the first five months of 2026. This is almost 20% more than in the same period last year, when about 160,000 such travelers were registered. Gleb Nikitin noted that one of the key tools for developing the industry remains the national project "Tourism and Hospitality." This year, more than 60 million rubles are planned to be allocated for the creation of modern tourist navigation and a new complex for auto tourists.

At the forum, the governor presented a stand for the Nizhny Novgorod region, dedicated to the combination of modern technologies and traditions. Its central element was a mobile tourist information center, where visitors can obtain maps and guides, as well as learn about the folk arts and crafts of the region. Another exhibit was the "Sobol NN" motorhome, produced in Nizhny Novgorod.

Special attention was paid to routes for auto travelers. Today, tourists can take trips through the pilgrimage-tourist cluster "Arzamas - Diveevo - Sarov," as well as routes to Nizhny Novgorod, Bolshoye Boldino, Vyksa, Semyonov, Gorodets, and Chkalovsk. One of the popular attractions remains Lake Svetloyar. For motorists traveling along the M-12 "Vostok" highway, a special route guide from the portal "Meet Nizhny" has been prepared. It includes five destinations - Vyksa, Diveevo, Arzamas, Bolshoye Boldino, and Nizhny Novgorod. Additionally, the portal "Traveling.RF" features routes to the natural and historical attractions of the region. Among them is a two-day tour "Water Labyrinths, Museums, and Caves: The Nature of Nizhny Novgorod in 2 Days," as well as the route "On the Roads of Princes and Masters of the Nizhny Novgorod Region," which passes through Balakhna, Purekh, Chkalovsk, Zavolzhye, and Gorodets. Inter-municipal trips for auto tourists have also been developed from Nizhny Novgorod to Bolshoye Murashkino, Balakhna, and Chkalovsk, as well as routes from Grigorovo to Veldemanovo and from Bolshoye Murashkino to Knyaginino. According to the Minister of Tourism and Crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Sergey Yakovlev, in the near future, the mobile tourist information center will travel to the cities of the "Golden Ring," where it will talk about the opportunities for automotive tourism in the region.

At the same time, the development of road and roadside infrastructure continues in the Nizhny Novgorod region. In particular, the first hotel for travelers, including 45 rooms, a café, and a children's playground, has already opened at the 421st kilometer of the M-12 "Vostok" highway. Earlier, Nizhny Novgorod residents were informed about how to save on traveling through the Golden Ring in 2026. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
