      According to the data from the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper Volga Hydrometeorological Center," from June 10 to June 16, 2026, high (class 4) fire danger is expected in some areas of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the city of Nizhny Novgorod for forests and peat bogs. The likelihood of emergencies related to forest (natural) fires is increasing. There may be an increase in the number of fire outbreaks and areas of natural fires, as well as the spread of fire to populated areas and economic facilities.

      Recommended measures:

      1. To the heads of territorial bodies of federal executive authorities, executive authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod region, and local government bodies:

       - Communicate the forecast of emergencies to the chairpersons of the emergency commissions, all municipal-level services of the emergency response system, and interested organizations and institutions;

       - Ensure the dissemination of information to the population, tourist groups, including through mass media and official websites of municipal administrations;

       - Make decisions (based on the predicted probability and monitoring data of the current situation) to bring management bodies, forces, and resources into "INCREASED READINESS" mode and organize additional measures to protect the population and territories from emergencies;

       - Prepare municipal emergency response forces and resources according to action plans for preventing and eliminating emergencies, and organize the work of interagency operational headquarters;

       - Check the availability and readiness for use of material and technical resources for eliminating possible emergencies;

       - Identify and prepare temporary accommodation points for the evacuated population from settlements exposed to forest fires, and plan evacuation measures;

       - Organize the work of mobile operational groups to patrol the territories of settlements, adjacent areas, and places of mass recreation to prevent violations of fire safety regulations;

       - Take additional measures for fire safety arrangements in the territories of settlements (creating (updating) firebreaks around settlements, removing dry vegetation, maintaining fire water supply sources in working condition, etc.);

       - Establish control over the enforcement of the ban on burning grass, making bonfires, burning brushwood, logging residues, and combustible materials;

       - Strengthen monitoring of the current situation through duty dispatch services, ensuring timely transmission of information and reports;

      2. To the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife Protection of the Nizhny Novgorod region:

       - Inform local government bodies of municipal formations in the Nizhny Novgorod region and the population about the increase in fire danger class in forests due to weather conditions;

       - Ensure the closure of entrances to forests with barriers and the organization of stationary and mobile posts when the fire danger class reaches IV or V due to weather conditions;

       - Organize checkpoints, create mobile groups of forestry workers and law enforcement officers to patrol the most fire-prone forest areas;

       - Ensure the collection and exchange of operational information with the Central Emergency Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region regarding the current forest fire situation, the forces and resources involved in firefighting, and the work of operational (mobile) patrol groups.

      In accordance with the concluded agreements, please inform the Central Emergency Management Center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region about the receipt of the Emergency Warning and the measures taken in accordance with the recommendations.

      Recommendations for the population:

      The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region strongly requests to be extremely careful during the fire hazard period and to observe all necessary fire safety rules.

      Upon receiving information about high and extreme fire danger in forests and peat bogs, comply with the ban on visiting forests.

      Do not burn garbage on your garden and dacha plots. Do not burn garbage near forests and wooded areas. Do not make bonfires in forests. Do not smoke, do not throw burning matches, cigarette butts, and do not empty hot ash from smoking pipes. Do not leave in the forest oily or gasoline-soaked, kerosene-soaked, and other combustible materials. Do not leave bottles, glass shards, or other garbage in sunny forest clearings.

      If you discover a natural fire, be attentive and careful, and immediately call the firefighters.
