The "Limpopo" showcased newborn crane chicks, calves, and a fawn.

      On June 10, 2026, at 09:45, Society Several additions have occurred at the Nizhny Novgorod "Limpopo" this summer. Offspring have appeared among both birds and animals, reported the zoo's press service. The first parents were Scottish Highland cows. A male named Boryka and his companions Zoryka and Busi welcomed two calves. First, a heifer was born to Zoryka, and then a bull calf was born to Busi.

      An addition also took place in the family of Japanese cranes Futo and Ivaki. The pair hatched two chicks, the genders of which are currently unknown. Two more chicks appeared from the rare red-listed Caspian sultans.

      A special event was the birth of a chick to a pair of Siberian cranes—one of the rarest cranes not only in Russia but also in the world. The parents are white cranes named Gyda and Vorona. The gender of the chick has not yet been determined by specialists.

      Additionally, for the first time, a female yak named Gerda became a mother. She gave birth to a heifer, which, according to the observations of the zoo staff, has an active and curious character. The little one is already confidently exploring the enclosure and is not afraid of visitors.

      Another addition occurred in the family of spotted deer. The newborn fawn is currently staying close to its mother and does not stray from her side.
