The scheme for embezzling grants for farm development was uncovered in Nizhny Novgorod.

      June 5, 2026 19:00 Incidents In Nizhny Novgorod, a criminal case is being investigated regarding an attempt to embezzle budget funds allocated for the development of family livestock farms. The scheme was uncovered by the employees of the Economic Security and Anti-Corruption Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region, together with colleagues from the regional FSB office. According to the investigation, the director of one of the LLCs suggested to an acquaintance to carry out the scheme: register as an individual entrepreneur, arrange a fictitious purchase and sale agreement for cattle, submit documents for a grant, and then divide the received funds. The men agreed and formalized a deal for 47 heads of cattle for a total of 1,699,064 rubles. After that, the money from the subsidy was transferred to the LLC's bank accounts, and then, as law enforcement believes, they divided it among themselves. A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of the incident under part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud"). The investigation is ongoing.
