The authorities of Nizhny Novgorod have processed 252 requests as part of the "SafeNO" project.

June 2, 2026 14:23 Society The Mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev, summarized the results of the "SafeNO" project, in which the city's residents participated. Over four weeks, Nizhny Novgorod residents sent messages about dangerous objects via phone and through the "Lobachevsky" platform. A total of 252 requests were received: 218 concerned open manholes, 28 related to fittings and metal rods, and another 6 involved abandoned wires. "As soon as a request came in, specialists would go to the locations, close the manholes, remove the fittings, and pick up the broken wires," noted Yuri Shalabaev. Currently, the overwhelming majority of requests have already been addressed, and the remaining inquiries are also planned to be resolved. The city head noted that interaction with residents proved to be effective and thanked the citizens for their attention to safety issues. "We continue our work, so please leave requests on 'Lobachevsky' at any time," added Yuri Shalabaev. It is worth noting that the "SafeNO" project was first launched in 2024 at the initiative of the city's Public Chamber and was revived in May of this year by the decision of Yuri Shalabaev.
