      June 1, 2026 15:31 Society The Mayor of Nizhny Novgorod, Yuri Shalabaev, congratulated the young residents of the city, their parents, grandmothers, and grandfathers on Children's Day and the first day of summer. He wished that every child's childhood would be filled with love and support, filled with happy events, bright impressions, and new discoveries. According to the city's head, every child deserves a happy childhood surrounded by care and attention.

      Our main task is to ensure that the little Nizhny Novgorod residents grow up healthy, smart, and well-rounded, and have the opportunity to discover their talents, the mayor said.

      Shalabaev noted that kindergartens and nurseries in the city accept children from an early age. More than 63,000 little ones receive proper nutrition and their first knowledge there, learn to communicate, create, and love their Motherland. In 180 schools in Nizhny Novgorod, as the mayor emphasized, conditions are being created for quality education and educational work for nearly 162,000 children. Various projects and initiatives are in place in the city, including the "Movement of the First," Olympiads, and competitions. There are also centers and houses of children's creativity, sports schools, and sections for the kids. In the summer, boys and girls can look forward to summer camps, school camps, specialized camps, and health camps.

      Addressing the children, the city head wished them a fun and interesting summer, urging them to gather strength and positive emotions, to be curious, and to discover this world every day.
