The Investigative Committee organized an inspection following a fatal traffic accident in the Volodarsky district.

      On June 1, 2026, at 16:05, Incidents The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region has initiated a preliminary investigation into the accident involving a passenger bus and a car, which resulted in one death. This was reported by its press service.

      Recall that the traffic accident occurred on June 1 at about 12:30 on the 11th kilometer of the road Dzerzhinsk - Volodarsk - Nizhny Novgorod. According to preliminary information, a 66-year-old woman driving a Hyundai entered the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a route bus.

      The driver of the car died at the scene. In addition, four passengers of the bus sustained injuries of varying severity.

      According to the Investigative Committee, the investigation was organized at the direction of the head of the regional investigative department, Airat Akhmetshin.

      Employees will need to establish all the circumstances of the incident. As part of the investigation, a legal assessment will also be made regarding compliance with safety requirements when providing passenger transport services.
