A 70-year-old woman died in a nighttime fire in the Sokolsky district.

      May 29, 2026 15:10 Incidents A deadly fire occurred in the village of Kornoukhovo in the Sokolsky district. This was reported by the regional emergency management agency. A report of the fire was received at the fire department's control center during the night. By the time units of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived, the fire had engulfed a residential house, a summer house, and an outbuilding. The flames spread over an area of about 200 square meters. As a result of the fire, a 75-year-old man was injured. He was hospitalized. During the examination of the burned structures, rescuers discovered the body of a 70-year-old woman.

      Currently, law enforcement officers and investigators from the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the scene. They will need to establish the causes of the fire. It was previously reported that two women died in a fire in a gardening association in Zavolzhye. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under part 3 of article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation - causing death by negligence to two individuals.
