She was found guilty of violating sanitary and epidemiological rules, which led to a mass illness and the death of a child, the press service of the regional court reported. Recall that in June 2023, at the camp in the Arzamas district, a 13-year-old teenager felt unwell - he had a fever. Despite the symptoms, he was taken to the infectious disease hospital in Nizhny Novgorod only two days later. The child later died. The sick child was not isolated from other campers in a timely manner. As a result, the infection spread: one camp staff member and four minors became infected. One of the infected children died. As established in court, the head nurse was required by her position to monitor compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements and report any violations to the management. However, these duties were not performed properly. In particular, the children were not provided with timely primary medical care and emergency assistance, nor was urgent transportation of the sick child to a specialized medical institution organized. This led to mass infection and created a threat of further spread of the infection. At the court hearing, the defendant did not admit her guilt. By the court's verdict of May 19, she was sentenced to restriction of freedom for a period of 2 years and 6 months.
