      May 19, 2026 16:15 Culture and Leisure The XXII International Festival of Folk Arts and Crafts "Golden Khokhloma" (0+) will take place on June 20-21 in Semyonovo. The main musical event of the festival will be a performance by the Russian band "Moya Mishel," which is announced as the headliner of the program. As reported by the Ministry of Tourism and Crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, the event will be held as part of the national project "Tourism and Hospitality." In 2026, the festival will unite participants and guests around the theme "110 Years in the Hands of Masters." This theme is dedicated to the anniversary of the opening of the school of artistic wood processing in Semyonovo, which marked the beginning of the history of the "Khokhloma Painting" factory.

      "The theme of the anniversary year '110 Years in the Hands of Masters' is not chosen by chance: behind each element of the painting are the fates and personal mastery of the people who pass on the secrets of the craft from generation to generation. We tell the story of Khokhloma through the figure of the master - a hero just like the artist or carver from folk tales, whose strength lies in knowledge and endless patience. I am sure that the venue in Semyonovo, which has become the center for celebrating the Day of Folk Arts and Crafts of Russia, will provide guests with a special atmosphere of involvement," noted Sergey Yakovlev, Minister of Tourism and Crafts of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      Festive events will unfold on several streets and squares of the city. The central element of the program will be a fair in the main festival square. At the "Khokhloma Painting" factory, excursions, exhibition projects, master classes, lectures, and interactive events are planned. In addition, from May 28 to 31, the "Heavenly Fairy Tale" (0+) ballooning festival will take place in Semyonovo.
