CIPR-2026 in Nizhny Novgorod was "captured" by robot dogs and androids.
The NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" - Polina Zubova Robots became the center of everyone's attention at the CIPR-2026 conference (12+) in Nizhny Novgorod. And it's not just about robot couriers. The crowd favorites were the robot dogs from the Chinese company Unitree Robotics. These four-legged machines can perform commands familiar to regular dogs: "sit," "lie down," "give paw." Such models are most often used for entertainment and educational purposes, the robot operator told the NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" correspondent. The robot dog can be programmed and new commands can be added. Thanks to this, the device is used in educational institutions in programming and robotics courses. Students can practice coding skills, test algorithms, and study the management of robotic systems in practice. The model is equipped with a removable battery that charges separately. One charge lasts about an hour to an hour and a half of active work. Mobility is provided by built-in motors responsible for movement. In addition, the robot is equipped with a lidar that scans the space in 360 degrees, as well as cameras. This allows the robo-pet to build routes and avoid collisions. You can meet the robo-dogs in the first and second pavilions of the Fair. But keep in mind that even robots sometimes need a break.
Humanoid robots from 3Logic Group also sparked significant interest. They can operate under the control of an operator or completely independently after preliminary training. Control is possible through a virtual reality headset. In this case, the teleoperator sees the surrounding world "through the eyes" of the robot and uses a joystick to control its movements. In fact, the machine becomes a digital avatar of a person in physical space and replicates their actions. The second mode of operation is autonomous. However, for this, the system needs to be trained. The robot is shown a map of the space, explained how to interact with objects, how to pick up, for example, a glass, and how much force to use to hold it. The degree of trainability is primarily limited by physical parameters. Load capacity, autonomous working time, and motor capabilities depend on the design. There is no strict limit on the complexity of tasks, but the physical world imposes restrictions. For example, the robot will not be able to perform ultra-fine operations like assembling microchips with fingers. One of the key areas of application for such models is working in conditions hazardous to humans. The robot can be used in areas with increased electrical conductivity or radiation, where the presence of people is associated with risk. It was previously reported that robot couriers started operating in Nizhny Novgorod on May 14. The NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
