The missing Nizhny Novgorod teenagers at Svetloyar have contacted the police.

      On May 10, 2026, at 12:45 PM, Society Two missing teenagers who went on a hike to Lake Svetloyar have contacted the police. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. On May 9, a woman contacted law enforcement and reported the disappearance of her 16-year-old son. According to her, the day before, on May 8, she drove him and his friend to the village of Vladimirskoye. From there, the teenagers planned to go on a forest hike. As the applicant clarified, the boys have tourist experience and were fully equipped. After receiving the report, police officers quickly organized search activities. Volunteers joined the effort, announcing an emergency gathering to participate in the search. Currently, the teenagers are in contact with the police. They are heading to the edge of the forest, where law enforcement is waiting for them. It was previously reported that more than 100 people went missing in the Nizhny Novgorod region in April.
