Winds with gusts up to 18 m/s and thunderstorms are approaching the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      May 6, 2026 16:10 Society Thunderstorms and strengthening of the southwest wind with gusts up to 18 m/s are expected in the Nizhny Novgorod region on May 6. In connection with this, the energy company "Nizhnovenergo" is preparing to work under adverse weather conditions.

      To respond quickly to possible consequences of unfavorable weather conditions, 122 teams have been formed: 517 specialists and 282 units of special equipment. Socially significant and infrastructure facilities are under special control. In case of power supply interruptions, 230 backup sources with a total capacity of about 10.05 MW have been prepared.

      An operational headquarters is functioning in the branch. Information exchange with territorial divisions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and executive authorities has been established, and constant monitoring of the meteorological situation is underway. Residents are asked to exercise caution. If downed power lines are discovered, approaching them is prohibited - this must be reported immediately to the energy company or the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

      Reports of power supply violations and damage to energy facilities can be made by calling the hotline "Bright Line" at 8−800−220−0−220 (short number 220, free and available 24/7), as well as through the official website and mobile application "There is Light!". Applications submitted through electronic services are promptly processed.
