Shot in the head: a Nizhny Novgorod man was detained for an attack near a bar.

      On May 6, 2026, at 16:48, Incidents: In Nizhny Novgorod, the police detained a 36-year-old local resident suspected of attempting to murder a bar patron. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region. The incident occurred on the evening of May 3 at one of the establishments on Busygin Avenue. A conflict suddenly arose between the patrons. One of them suggested that the other step outside to resolve their differences. There, he shot the victim in the head. After that, the man fled the scene with his companion in a BMW car.

      In connection with the incident, the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region opened a criminal case under the article on attempted murder. The next day, the suspect was detained. Traffic police officers stopped the wanted BMW, which was being driven by a previously convicted resident of the Soviet district. The court placed the defendant in custody. The investigation is ongoing.
