This decision was made by one of the airlines, the press service of Chkalov Airport reported. The day before, temporary restrictions were in place in Moscow on the acceptance and departure of aircraft. In these conditions, the Nizhny Novgorod airport acted as the main backup for the capital's aviation hub. By the evening of May 5, the air harbor received 15 flights. Passengers were waiting for further departures either on board the planes or in the terminal. They were provided with water and food. After the restrictions were lifted, the planes continued their journey to their destinations. At the same time, one of the airlines organized ground transportation for passengers of three flights to Sheremetyevo Airport - people were transported to Moscow by buses. It should be noted that on the night of May 5, the "Carpet" plan was implemented at the Nizhny Novgorod airport as well. It began accepting and sending flights during the day.
