      The physical volume index of food production at food and processing enterprises in the Nizhny Novgorod region amounted to 105.9%, and for beverage production – 117.9% for the first two months of 2026. The Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Nikolai Denisov, noted that the highest growth in production volume compared to the same period among all categories was in butter, with the volume increasing by more than 60 percent to 1.8 thousand tons. "Cheese production increased by almost 26 percent – to 1.9 thousand tons. Meat and poultry by-products were produced 20 percent more – nearly 13 thousand tons. Additionally, nearly nine thousand tons of meat semi-finished products were produced, which is an eight percent increase. The volume of sausage production also increased – to 16.5 thousand tons, which is 6.4 percent more, and confectionery products – to 7.9 thousand tons, which is 2.7 percent more," said Nikolai Denisov. In the first two months of the current year, enterprises in the industry produced and shipped products worth a total of 37.2 billion rubles, including 31.5 billion rubles for food products and 5.7 billion for beverages. The growth compared to the corresponding period last year was 4.5%.
