April 27, 2026 14:04 Society "Victory Dictation" has united millions of people in Russia and abroad for the 8th time. The event covered 97 countries around the world. More than 37,700 sites operated across Russia and abroad. One of nearly 700 such sites in the Nizhny Novgorod region was the National Research University of the Presidential Academy.
Joining the 200 students were: the director of the National Research University of the Presidential Academy Ekaterina Lebedeva, acting Minister of Personnel Policy of the Nizhny Novgorod region Roman Markov, director of the state-legal department of the region Alexander Kamornikov, rector of the Academy of the Federal Tax Service of Russia Ivan Efremov, and rector of KUPNO Ivan Kalmykov.
"Now, as fewer living witnesses of those events remain, the task of countering the falsification of historical facts comes to the forefront. The dictation helps not only to learn more about our past but also to better understand current events, to realize the necessity of defending the Motherland at any historical stage. The Victory Dictation is not just a knowledge test. It is a tribute to the heroism of the Soviet liberating and victorious people," noted Ekaterina Lebedeva.
The tasks of this international event traditionally included 25 questions, with 45 minutes allocated for their completion. The main themes of the questions in 2026 were focused on anniversary dates and events: the 130th anniversary of the birth of Marshal G. K. Zhukov, questions about the first months of the war, the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress and border battles, and the blockade of Leningrad.
"A people that does not know its past has no future. Preserving the memory of our ancestors who heroically gave their lives for the Motherland is the most important task for every citizen of the country. The 'Victory Dictation' is our joint contribution to the perpetuation of the feat of the great people. We in the Nizhny Novgorod region support this event every year so that the younger generation—schoolchildren and students—remembers what allows us all to live in this world. And so that the kids do not forget the sacrifices and efforts that the Great Victory required," emphasized Roman Markov.
As some students participating in the event admitted, this was one of the most challenging and interesting Victory Dictations.
"The feeling of being part of the history of my country fills my heart with incredible pride and gratitude. As a participant in the 'Victory Dictation,' I feel a living connection between generations: by answering questions about key battles and the fates of heroes, we bring back from oblivion the feat of those who gifted us peace. This is a duty of memory, where each correct answer becomes a brick in the wall against the lies about the war," shared student Polina Borisova. The NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
