A bureaucrat from Balakhna was fined 100,000 rubles for the death of a man.

      On April 27, 2026, at 13:14, Incidents: An employee of the administration of the Balakhna district was found guilty of negligence that led to a person's death. This was reported by the Unified Press Service of the courts of general jurisdiction of the Nizhny Novgorod region. It was established that the convicted person's duties included promptly responding to emergency situations and taking measures to prevent serious consequences. However, after the power line wire, which was under the administration's care, broke, no necessary actions were taken. The wire remained live for more than a day, and access to it was not restricted in any way. As a result, a local resident touched the wire and received a fatal electric shock. He died on the spot. The court took into account that after the incident, the accused paid compensation for moral damage to the daughter of the deceased and publicly apologized. Considering these circumstances, a lighter punishment than provided for by the article was imposed—a fine of 100,000 rubles to be paid to the state. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
