A tactile model of the All-Russian Exhibition of 1896 will be created in Nizhny Novgorod.

This was announced by the region's Minister of Culture Natalia Sukhanova during the presentation of the event plan for the 130th anniversary of the event, as reported by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod". According to her, the model is being developed at the request of the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin. Initially, it is planned to be installed near the Warehouses, and after the completion of landscaping work, it will be moved to the 1st of May Park. As Natalia Sukhanova noted, the project could be implemented by the end of the year. "We are currently analyzing what material we will use to make it, the price-quality ratio. Most likely, it will be bronze," the minister clarified to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod". Recall that the XVI All-Russian Industrial and Art Exhibition took place in Nizhny Novgorod from May 28 (June 9) to October 1 (13), 1896. It became the first exhibition of national scale organized outside the capitals and the largest in the history of such events. It was the only one to be awarded the status of "Great." The exhibition covered over 80 hectares, with more than 170 pavilions built on the territory. During its operation, the exhibition was visited by more than a million people, including members of the imperial family. It was previously reported that modern museum spaces might appear in the 1st of May Park in Nizhny Novgorod. Additionally, landscaping work in the park began in the fall of 2024. In the summer of 2025, the second of three phases of landscaping was completed. Last autumn, it was reported that preparations for the final phase documentation had begun.
