The Nizhny Novgorod company increased production due to labor productivity.

      April 27, 2026 12:16 Economy Experts from the Regional Competence Center (RCC) together with employees of the "Energy Network Company" summarized the results of implementing lean technology tools within the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy." The company is a territorial network organization (TNO) specializing in the transmission of electrical energy in Nizhny Novgorod. The process of performing electrical installation work was chosen as the pilot flow at the enterprise. "The federal project 'Labor Productivity' allows enterprises to increase work efficiency and profitability by optimizing processes. At the 'Energy Network Company,' thanks to the systematic work of RCC experts, significant improvements were achieved in a short time. Over six months, productivity increased by 27 percent, and the time for completing electrical installation work was reduced by 36 percent – from 140 to 90 days," noted the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Maxim Cherkasov. Over six months, RCC experts analyzed internal processes, identified 17 "bottlenecks," and proposed solutions for each. In the pilot flow, it was possible to reduce time losses by decreasing the labor intensity of operations, improving working conditions, and implementing the 5S system*. RCC experts also trained 14 employees of the enterprise in lean technologies and prepared two internal trainers who will be able to independently train their colleagues in the future. In the Nizhny Novgorod Region, lean technology tools within the federal project "Labor Productivity" of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy" are successfully implemented by two more enterprises specializing in the transmission of electrical energy. To date, a total of 316 companies are working on the implementation of lean technologies with government support in the region.
