Nizhny Novgorod mushroom pickers have gathered the first spring trophies in the forests of the region.

They are sharing photos of their harvest in the community "Mushrooms, Fish, and Berries Nizhny Novgorod" on "VKontakte." According to group members, successful outings took place in Bor, as well as in the Gorodetsky, Balakhna, Semyonov, and other districts of the region.

      Mushroom hunters most often found morels and false morels. Additionally, they discovered scarlet sarcoscypha and thyroid discina in the forests.

      Earlier, the head of the Department of Botany and Zoology at NNGU, Ekaterina Vodeneyeva, reminded that morels and false morels are conditionally edible mushrooms and require special caution when preparing them. It was also previously reported that a new habitat for the globose sarcosoma Sarcosoma globosum, listed in the Red Book of Russia, has been discovered in the region.
