Arrested businessman Dmitry Arzhanov filed a lawsuit for his own bankruptcy.
On April 27, 2026, at 10:02 AM, Society: A petition has been filed with the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region to declare Dmitry Arzhanov bankrupt. The lawsuit was submitted by the entrepreneur himself on April 24.
The amount of the claims is 1.7 billion rubles. This information has been posted in the court registry.
The date for the hearing of the petition has not yet been set.
Recall that Dmitry Arzhanov was detained in the fall of 2020 along with the leaders of the "TNS Energy" group. They were accused of organizing a criminal community and fraud related to the embezzlement of funds from the company "Rosseti." At that time, the energy supply holding had accumulated significant debt to the network organization for electricity transmission services.
Currently, the criminal case is being heard in the Tver District Court of Moscow. In addition to Arzhanov, the defendants in the case include the former general director of the "TNS Energy" group, Sergey Afanasyev, his wife and former deputy Sofia Afanasyeva, as well as the former executive director of "TNS Energy Nizhny Novgorod," Boris Shchurov.
The proceedings in the case began at the end of 2023. According to the investigation, the damage caused to PJSC "Rosseti Center" and "Rosseti Center and Volga Region" is estimated at 14.5 billion rubles. The accused deny their involvement in the embezzlement.
Earlier, a petition to declare Arzhanov bankrupt was also submitted to the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region by the energy supply company LLC "NES." The amount of its claims against the entrepreneur is 200 million rubles.
It was also reported that two houses and a plot belonging to Dmitry Arzhanov were once again put up for auction.
