Nizhny Novgorod mushroom pickers collected the first spring trophies in the forests of the region.

They are sharing photos of their harvest in the community "Mushrooms, Fish, and Berries NN" on "VKontakte." According to group members, successful outings took place in Bor, as well as in the Gorodetsky, Balakhna, Semyonov, and other districts of the region.

      Mushroom hunters most often encountered morels and false morels. Additionally, they found scarlet sarcoscypha and thyroid discina in the forests.

      Earlier, the head of the Department of Botany and Zoology at NNGU, Ekaterina Vodeneyeva, reminded that morels and false morels are considered conditionally edible mushrooms and require special caution when preparing. It was also previously reported that a new habitat for the globose sarcosoma Sarcosoma globosum, listed in the Red Book of Russia, has been discovered in the region.
