Parents of Nizhny Novgorod schoolchildren will try to take the Unified State Exam.

On April 21, 2026, at 14:13 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, a nationwide event "Let's Take the Exam Together. Parents' Day for the Unified State Exam" will take place on April 23 (0+). Parents and legal representatives of schoolchildren will be able to participate — they will be invited to undergo the state final certification procedure in the format of the Unified State Exam.

First of all, parents of graduates of the current academic year are invited to the event. As reminded by the regional Ministry of Education, the event is held annually about a month before the main period of the Unified State Exam. In 2026, participants will be offered to take the exam in the Russian language.

The head of the relevant ministry, Mikhail Puchkov, explained that the event is aimed at increasing trust in the exam procedure. Schoolchildren undergo training exams in advance, so they come to the Unified State Exam prepared.

"The nationwide event 'Let's Take the Exam Together' is designed to demonstrate the transparency of the state final certification procedure to the parents of schoolchildren. When adults feel confident, it is much easier for them to support their children," noted the minister.

The event will take place in all municipalities of the region, including the districts of Nizhny Novgorod. Addresses of the venues can be found in local education management bodies. To participate, it is necessary to submit an application, and on the exam day, present an ID.

One of the venues in Nizhny Novgorod will be school No. 188. It is expected that the regional Minister of Education Mikhail Puchkov, the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the region Margarita Ushakova, representatives of the Legislative Assembly, law enforcement agencies, and other specialists will participate in the event.

During the "trial Unified State Exam," participants go through all stages of the exam: registration, surrendering personal belongings, pre-exam control, and filling out forms. Parents will be able to see how the control is organized, whether sanitary requirements are met, and how exam materials are printed and processed.

The exam tasks will be similar to those that will be offered to graduates in 2026. At the same time, adults will be offered a shortened version of the work — it will take about 30 minutes instead of the standard 3-4 hours, but will allow them to familiarize themselves with different types of tasks.

Improving the quality of education remains one of the key tasks of the national project "Youth and Children," which is being implemented at the direction of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.

It was previously reported that ten Nizhny Novgorod graduates passed the Unified State Exam early.
