The premises in the burned mansion of Vagin on Ilyinka are being seized from the owners.

      On April 15, 2026, at 17:39 Society In Nizhny Novgorod, the premises in house No. 42 on Ilyinskaya Street in Nizhny Novgorod — a cultural heritage site of regional significance known as the Vagin Estate — began to be seized. The corresponding order was published on the regional Ministry's website.

      A total of three apartments are being seized from seven individuals and a non-residential premises owned by LLC "Spec Service" with a total area of 329.3 sq. m, as well as shares in the common ownership of a land plot with an area of 444 sq. m.

      The house, built in the 1870s, is part of Nikolai Vagin's estate and is a part of the historical environment of the Zapochainye district. Until January 2025, the building was used as a residence. Then, a fire occurred in the house, claiming one life. The fire also affected the neighboring site — the estate of merchant E.S. Kopylov – the workshop of A.I. Zaporozhsky.

      In February 2025, a special regime was introduced near the burned estate.

      It was previously reported that the city hall began the seizure of the plot with the house on Sutyrina Street in Sormovo.
