      In the House of the Nizhny Novgorod Region in Moscow, a business lounge "Russia–China" was held, organized by the regional government for representatives of more than 50 Chinese companies and business associations operating in Russia. Participants of the meeting — representatives of the Chinese Embassy, leaders of Chinese business associations, and entrepreneurs — discussed the prospects for investments, industrial cooperation, and the expansion of trade and economic ties. The main focus was on mechanisms to support foreign investors and opportunities to launch joint projects in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Dmitry Starostin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, noted that the first initiatives with foreign participation are already being implemented in the special economic zone "Kulibin," where preferential conditions for residents are in place. Priority areas for cooperation include machine engineering, automotive industry, chemical and light industry, agriculture, IT sector, and construction. A number of regional enterprises, including the poultry farm "Pavlovskaya" and the holding "Pearl of the Volga," are already supplying products to the Chinese market. Gao Xianzhong, President of the National Association of Shanxi Entrepreneurs in Russia, reported on the interest of Chinese companies in projects in telecommunications and electronic products. Xiaomin Li, advisor to the China International Association for the Promotion of Science and Technology Development, emphasized the readiness of businesses to establish production in Russia. Participants also discussed the challenges of working under sanctions, including financial issues and finding reliable counterparties. Regional representatives reported on the development of alternative financial instruments in collaboration with federal institutions and banks, as well as support for transactions. The parties agreed to hold meetings in the business lounge format on a regular basis. The next event will be the International Conference "Digital Industry of Industrial Russia," which will take place from May 18 to 21, 2026. Nizhny Novgorod enterprises interested in cooperation with China can receive consultations at the Export Support Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. The implementation of the export potential of the region and the country is the task of the national project "International Cooperation and Export," initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
