A resident of Nizhny Novgorod was sentenced to 1.5 years of forced labor for selling a firecracker to a teenager.

      On April 15, 2026, at 10:16, Incidents: A Nizhny Novgorod man was convicted for selling a firecracker to a minor. The Kanavinsky District Court found the man guilty of providing services that did not meet safety requirements and caused serious harm to a person's health due to negligence, the press service of the regional court reported.

      Recall that the man sold pyrotechnics to a 13-year-old teenager in December 2024. Subsequently, the minor ignited the device in the territory of a shopping and entertainment center. A few seconds later, it exploded in his hand. As a result, all fingers on the teenager's left hand were injured. Doctors managed to completely preserve the thumb and index finger, while the other three were partially restored.

      The court sentenced the man to 1 year and 6 months of compulsory labor with a deduction of 10% of his earnings for the benefit of the state. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.

      Earlier, it was reported that more than 550,000 rubles were recovered from the individual entrepreneur who sold the firecracker for the benefit of the family of the teenager who was injured in the explosion of the pyrotechnic device.
