Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" lost to "Metallurg" again and is trailing 0:2 in the series.

      April 11, 2026 16:09 Sports The second match of the quarterfinal series of the Gagarin Cup between Nizhny Novgorod's "Torpedo" and Magnitogorsk's "Metallurg" again ended in favor of the home team. Alexey Isakov's team managed to score only once.

      During the match, the players of "Metallurg" often held the initiative, but the goalkeeper of the auto plant, Denis Kostin, saved his team several times in key episodes. Nevertheless, with just over two minutes left in the first period, "Metallurg" opened the scoring.

      At the beginning of the fifth minute of the second period, the home team strengthened their lead, making it 2:0.

      The final third started for the guests in a difficult situation — in a "5 on 3" format. The Nizhny Novgorod team managed to hold out while short-handed, but with equal numbers, "Metallurg" extended the lead to 3:0. "Torpedo" managed to reduce the deficit in a "4 on 4" format. Amir Garaev passed through the opponent's defense and set up Igor Geraskin for a shot, who hit the home team's net.

      However, at the end of the match, the Magnitogorsk team took advantage of Anton Silaev's fall in the neutral zone and once again increased the difference to three goals. The final score was 4:1.

      After two games in Magnitogorsk, "Metallurg" leads the series 2:0.

      The series will continue in Nizhny Novgorod. The next matches (0+) are scheduled for April 13 and 15.
