      The Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Kabailo, denied information about the possible closure of the "Motor" sports school in Zavolzhye. He wrote about this on his Max-channel. According to the minister, the department received an appeal from the parents of the students, concerned about rumors of the closure of sports sections. Kabailo emphasized that, despite the municipal status of the institution, the regional ministry is keeping its work under control and providing financial support. He also reported that he visited the ice arena again the day before, where he assessed the results of the repairs, met with the school's management and representatives of the municipal sports sector, and communicated with the parents of the athletes. "There are no plans to close the school; on the contrary, we see its development as a center for attracting hockey players not only from Gorodets and Zavolzhye but also from other districts," the minister emphasized. According to the head of the department, the funding for the institution's operations and the dispatch of athletes for the current season has already been determined, including thanks to the support of the Torpedo hockey club. The issue of optimizing expenses for the next season will be resolved jointly with the head of the district, the school's management, and the coaching staff. The minister added that all problematic issues are being monitored, and the authorities intend to make every effort to resolve them. Earlier, it was reported that 18 new sports facilities will be built in the Nizhny Novgorod region in 2026.
