Two residents of Vladimir will be tried for kidnapping and murder in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On April 7, 2026, at 08:45, Incidents In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the investigation into the criminal case against two residents of the Vladimir region has been completed. They are accused of illegally entering a house, kidnapping two people, and murdering one of them. This was reported by the regional Investigative Committee of Russia.

      According to the investigation, on February 28, 2025, the men broke into a house on Vostochnaya Street in the village of Belyaevo. From there, they took two local residents—a man and a woman—suspecting them of stealing animals from a farm. The victims were placed in a car and taken to a livestock farm. There, they attempted to extract information from them about the whereabouts of the livestock and brutally beat the man. He died on the spot from the injuries sustained.

      The actions of the defendants have been classified under several articles of the Criminal Code, including kidnapping by a group of individuals using life-threatening violence and murder committed with particular cruelty by prior agreement.

      The accused have not admitted guilt. The court has chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention.

      The criminal case with an approved indictment has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.

      It was previously reported that a resident of Nizhny Novgorod was sentenced to 6 years for attempting to stab an acquaintance.
