High season in Asia: where to go and how much it costs

April 6, 2026 19:52 Society With the arrival of April, the active tourist season begins at popular resorts in Asia. Demand for vacations is rising, leading to increased prices.

As reported by the Russian Association of Tour Operators, April is a transitional month for many Asian resorts. The dry season is already starting in Bali and on the east coast of Malaysia, attracting tourists. In Nha Trang, there is also a rise in vacation prices. In Phu Quoc and Hainan, the high season peaks in April-May. Despite the weather still being comfortable, prices become more accessible. Among all destinations, Vietnam turned out to be the most budget-friendly, while Malaysia was the most expensive.

A vacation in Vietnamese Nha Trang remains one of the most affordable options. In a three-star hotel with a direct charter flight, the cost of a package for two is about 165,000 rubles. If you prefer a higher level of comfort, a five-star hotel will cost 257,900 rubles.

However, a vacation in Phu Quoc during the high season can be expensive. In April, the cost of packages in a three-star hotel starts from 317,000 rubles. Four-star hotels offer options from 223,100 to 263,100 rubles, while five-star hotels range from 279,300 to 288,700 rubles.

Bali attracts tourists with its natural beauty and atmosphere. During the spring period, a vacation here will cost 250,000 rubles for a package in a three-star hotel with a direct flight. If you want to stay in a five-star hotel, be prepared to pay 276,000 rubles for 10 nights.

Malaysia offers many interesting destinations for vacations, but there are no ready-made package tours to popular resorts like the Perhentian Islands, Tioman, and Redang available from tour operators. However, they can organize an individual trip, including flights.

In Phuket, the high season is coming to an end, leading to a decrease in package prices. In April and May, you can find good deals on accommodation, meals, and excursions. The cost of packages in three, four, and five-star hotels ranges from 165,500 to 227,400 rubles.

China's Hainan offers a variety of vacation options. In May, a package to a five-star hotel with a flight to Haikou will cost 170,000 rubles. Three-star hotels can be booked for 205,000-168,000 rubles, four-star hotels for 172,000-209,000 rubles, and five-star hotels for 168,000-268,000 rubles.

In 2026, among the most affordable vacation destinations for Russians remain the CIS countries. A week-long vacation for two in Belarus will cost an average of 80,000 rubles, in Uzbekistan — 93,000 rubles, and in Kyrgyzstan — 105,000 rubles.

It is also worth paying attention to Armenia, Georgia, China, and Turkey. The cost of a vacation depends on the chosen travel format.

Jordan is another budget-friendly destination that often goes unnoticed, reports 360.ru. In spring, everything blooms and smells here, and there is almost no rain. In March and April, you can enjoy walks through the ancient cities of Petra and Wadi Rum, which turn into scorching stone deserts in summer.

Spring vacations require a bit more preparation than summer ones. Here are some tips to help you prepare for your trip:

      - Book packages in advance; this will allow you to choose the best deals and save money.

      - Don’t skimp on insurance, especially for those who enjoy active sports. For some destinations, such as Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Goa, insurance against insect bites and tropical infections is recommended.

      - Prepare a basic first-aid kit. It should include remedies for stomach upset, antihistamines, sunscreen, and insect repellent.

      - Consult with a doctor in advance about vaccinations if you plan to visit India and other Southeast Asian countries.

      From clothing, take with you:

      - A light windbreaker or denim jacket for evening walks.

      - Closed clothing for visiting mosques, temples, and markets.

      - Comfortable shoes for long walks.

      - An adapter for sockets.

      - Cash currency.
