Ministry of Health: six people hospitalized for poisoning in Uren.
April 8, 2026 15:11 Society Six people with acute intestinal infection have been hospitalized in the Uren Central District Hospital. This was reported to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" by the regional health ministry. One adult and five children are undergoing treatment in the hospital. All patients are in a moderate condition. Doctors are providing them with all necessary assistance. It should be noted that a mass poisoning occurred in Uren recently. More than 50 people are known to be affected. All who sought medical help had consumed raw water from the central water supply. "Most likely, there was a one-time contamination either from floodwaters or sewage into the water supply. The source has not yet been found," said the head of the district, Sergey Babintsev. The reasons for the incident are being investigated by Rospotrebnadzor officials. They are examining water samples and materials from the affected individuals. A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Committee regarding the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements for the life and health of consumers. The prosecutor's office is checking the activities of resource supplying organizations. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
