As reported by IA "NTA-Volga", this became known during the 22nd annual conference of the "RADOR" Association, dedicated to modern technologies in the road industry. The results of the development of the region's transport infrastructure for 2025 were presented by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, secretary of the regional branch of "United Russia" Gleb Nikitin. According to him, the Nizhny Novgorod region continues to actively participate in federal programs. In 2025, the region was involved in 24 projects and ranked fifth in the country in achieving target indicators. Gleb Nikitin emphasized that road infrastructure plays a key role in the region's development. "The road network is not just asphalt and markings, but the circulatory system of the economy, connecting territories, ensuring logistics, and affecting the quality of life and investment attractiveness," he noted. As part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life," Nizhny Novgorod demonstrated the best indicators for tram fleet renewal in the country. In 2025, 69 new trams were purchased, including three specially large class cars. Considering previous deliveries, the total number has already reached 150 out of 170 planned units of the "MiNin" brand. At the same time, infrastructure modernization was underway. Over the past year, about 34.5 km of tram tracks were renewed, and the total volume of completed work reached 105.5 km, exceeding two-thirds of the planned target. In addition, the bus fleet in the region is actively being updated. In 2025, it increased by 245 units. Of these, 147 buses were purchased under the national project, and another 98 were acquired by private carriers with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia's program. Separately, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, focused on the development of the metro. Currently, construction is underway simultaneously on two lines, where three new stations will appear. The length of the new sections will be about 6.3 km. By the end of 2025, the Nizhny Novgorod metro transported more than 36 million passengers. It is expected that after the opening of the new stations, passenger traffic will increase by approximately 50% — an additional 18.7 million people per year. According to forecasts, by 2040 this figure could reach 85.9 million passengers annually. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
