The restrictions have been introduced due to the rising water levels in the rivers. As reported by the Main Directorate of Highways of the region, traffic is closed to prevent emergency situations until the flood water levels decrease. In particular, the temporary bridge over the Shiloksha River in the Kulebaksky district at the 191st km of the highway "Vladimir — Murom — Arzamas" is closed. The bridge over the Lemety River at the 211th kilometer of the same route is also closed. During the restrictions, detour routes have been organized. From the side of Nizhny Novgorod and Arzamas, traffic is directed through Vyksa: the village of Sakony, the workers' settlement of Ardatov, Vyksa, and Navashino. From the side of Murom, the detour goes through Navashino, Vyksa, Ardatov, and Sakony. In addition, it is possible to bypass the flooded areas via the M-12 "Vostok" highway. The agency recommends that motorists plan their routes in advance and take into account changes in traffic organization. It was previously reported that 20 adjacent territories were flooded in the Vyksunsky district. Security measures have been strengthened in the region due to the flood.
