Three Nizhny Novgorod residents will be tried for fraud with legal services.

      April 2, 2026 20:26 Incidents The Prosecutor's Office of Nizhny Novgorod has approved the indictment in the criminal case against three local residents accused of fraud committed by an organized group, causing significant harm to citizens. According to the investigation, the defendants provided legal services and conducted legal consultations, after which they embezzled clients' funds. The leader of the organized crime group registered commercial organizations, rented offices on Belinsky, Oktyabrskaya, and Zvezdinka streets, and also recruited accomplices. They were trained in methods of psychological and moral influence on clients and developed a scheme for committing crimes. The investigation believes that the criminals posed as lawyers in various fields of law, convinced citizens to enter into service contracts, and promised to prepare documents and represent them in court, with no intention of fulfilling their obligations. The cost of services ranged from 10,000 to 130,000 rubles. According to the investigation, from May 2020 to February 2025, the defendants embezzled more than 3 million rubles from citizens. The criminal case has been sent to the Nizhny Novgorod District Court for substantive consideration.
