A competition "Reading Together as a Family" has been announced in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region can join the All-Russian online competition "Reading Together as a Family." It is organized by the "Knowledge" society with the support of the Russian State Children's Library and the "First Movement." The competition aims to promote joint and educational leisure activities for children and adults. It is held on the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation, who supported this initiative, and aligns with the goals of the national project "Youth and Children." The jury accepts videos that reflect the theme of the importance of reading in families and demonstrate interesting practices of shared engagement with fiction literature. To participate, it is necessary to register on the competition website, post a video of up to five minutes in the social network "VKontakte" with the hashtag #KnowledgeReadingTogether and send the link through the participant's personal account. Various creative techniques can be used: staged readings, dramatizations, stories about favorite books, etc. Families can participate in full composition: parents, children, grandparents, and other relatives. Families can also pass the family book relay to other families by inviting them to participate in the competition, for which contestants will receive additional points.

      The acceptance of competition entries will last until September 30. "Please join in, read together, and record videos about how wonderful moments, minutes, and hours of shared reading take place in your family! Show your imagination and creative initiative! The jury—both expert and popular—will evaluate these videos. The whole country will see them. And I hope that, in addition to the pleasant awards, prizes, and surprises that await the winners, we can all together explain to children and remind adults that reading is an endless pleasure. And family reading is one of the pillars on which our family stands, and ultimately our society," emphasized Elena Yampolskaya, advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, announcing the start of the competition at the opening ceremony of the All-Russian Children's Book Week. The competition is divided into three periods: from March 26 to May 31, from June 1 to July 31, and from August 1 to September 30. At the end of each period, a list of the best works will be formed based on media activity (likes, comments). Then, the selected works will be evaluated by competition experts. At the end of each period, 100 prize winners and 10 winners will be determined, who will receive sets of books and other valuable prizes. Additionally, in the fall of 2026, a public vote will take place on social networks to determine the winner in the special nomination "Read with Us, Country!" "I am very glad that the overwhelming majority of Russians today believe that it is very important to instill a love for reading classical and modern domestic literature. According to the research center of the Russian society "Knowledge," 76% of families either already have a tradition of family reading or would like to establish one. In this regard, the competition "Reading Together as a Family," announced by Elena Alexandrovna Yampolskaya, I am sure will help strengthen the tradition of family reading," noted Maxim Dreval, General Director of the Russian society "Knowledge." The final of the competition and the solemn award ceremony for the winners will take place at the end of the year at the National Center "Russia" as part of the Forum of School Librarians. "Knowledge" is an educational organization that annually conducts hundreds of events for youth across Russia: organizes thousands of speeches by outstanding people from the fields of culture, art, science, history, conducts scientific competitions, contests, quizzes, produces films, and helps lecturers in our country to be heard and find their audience.

      Since the reboot, the community of lecturers of "Knowledge" has united more than 32 thousand people. They have conducted over 200 thousand lectures in 89 regions of the Russian Federation. 8100 hours of educational content on various topics have been created: science, technology, space, culture and art, history, medicine, sports, and others. Online broadcasts from educational events of "Knowledge," as well as educational video content, have gathered over 2.5 billion views.
