T2 provided communication for the first domestic serial electric vehicle.

On April 2, 2026, at 17:20, Society T2, a Russian mobile operator, connected the first domestic serial electric car Atom to its network, developed from scratch on its own platform. The operator integrated an eSIM profile into all versions of the electric vehicles. This ensures stable operation of digital user services and the vehicle's telematics systems. At the same time, information is transmitted via an autonomous channel, guaranteeing the security of the systems.

The company is strengthening its positions in the B2B and M2M segments and developing a partnership with the Russian IT company "KAMA" – the developer of Atom. For the project, T2 developed a separate data transmission scheme with a distinction between technical and user traffic, which increased the level of security and organized the use of communication services in accordance with current legal requirements.

The operator's communication ensures continuous transmission of the vehicle's technical parameters: battery status, electric motor, sensors, and other systems. In combination with the vehicle's digital infrastructure, this allows for remote software updates, monitoring the vehicle's technical condition, and supporting safe driving functions. Information is transmitted via an isolated channel, eliminating the risks of leakage or hacking from outside.

User traffic is allocated to a separate circuit with internet access. Thanks to the eSIM profile, T2 drivers can use navigation, music and video services, online maps, and other digital capabilities of the vehicle's multimedia platform. In the future, Atom owners will be able to independently choose the appropriate amount of traffic for multimedia and pay for communication services directly to the operator through a personal account.

Alexander Mnatsakanyan, Deputy General Director for Strategic Planning at T2:

"Undoubtedly, the electric vehicle market remains an interesting growing niche in the global and domestic automotive industry. Its development directly depends on the possibilities of digitizing the experience, so communication plays one of the key roles in this business. The car is beginning to take on new roles, including the functions of a 'digital gadget,' where communication serves as the basic infrastructure for all services – from telematics to multimedia. In this model, the operator becomes part of the product. Even today, T2 is creating custom solutions for automakers and is ready to scale them to meet market demands: from designing data transmission architecture to ensuring a high level of security."

Yuri Zagainov, Head of the Corporate Business Development Department at T2:

"In the regions of the Volga Federal District, there is historically a strong cluster of automakers – both large factories and component suppliers. We see high potential for implementing T2 solutions in the field of vehicle digitization. The project implemented with the electric vehicle Atom is not just a local case; it is a technological foundation for creating and further implementing innovative solutions for the automotive industry. Based on this experience, we are already ready to offer scalable digital developments to the automotive industry. Our goal is to become not just a communication operator for the industry, but a significant technological partner."
