March in the Nizhny Novgorod region broke six temperature records.

      April 2, 2026 17:09 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, absolute temperature records were broken six times in March. This was reported by Olga Mokeeva, head of the weather forecast department of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Upper Volga UGM". However, according to her, despite the updated records, the past March was not the warmest in the history of observations. It fell short of the figures from 2020 and 2025. Olga Mokeeva noted that by March 10, warm and dry weather had settled in the region. The reason was an extensive stationary anticyclone. Because of it, the days were sunny, with large temperature fluctuations, and the thaws were long and intense. Precipitation in the region was low due to high atmospheric pressure and little cloud cover. The forecaster added that, statistically, every third March in the Nizhny Novgorod region is dry.
