Nizhny Novgorod applicants will be able to take an online selection process at GITIS.

      March 26, 2026 16:10 Society The digital ecosystem of MTS, in collaboration with the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts - GITIS, announced the start of registration for the online selection for applicants for the 2026/2027 academic year in the Volga Federal District.

      For applicants from the Nizhny Novgorod region, meetings in a remote format will take place on April 13 and 14 on the MTS Link platform as part of the educational project "Generation M". Participants who successfully pass the tests will receive recommendations for the next stages of admission to GITIS in Moscow.

      The online selection for the acting faculty of the largest theater university in Europe will be conducted by senior lecturer of the acting skills department Andrey Oganian. Students from schools and secondary vocational educational institutions who will receive their diploma in 2026, as well as graduates from previous years with valid results from the Unified State Exam (USE), will be able to participate.

      For the audition, it is necessary to prepare a literary program consisting of works from different genres: a fable, a poem, and a prose excerpt. Additionally, teachers may suggest performing a song of choice or a dance number.

      Before the start of the online selection, a special master class will be organized for participants to help them better prepare for the tests and feel more confident.

      The director of MTS in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Andrey Belov, noted that the joint initiative of the company and GITIS demonstrates the possibilities of digital solutions in the field of creative education.

      According to him, thanks to the use of the platform, schoolchildren and graduates from Nizhny Novgorod, Arzamas, Dzerzhinsk, Bor, and other settlements in the region can go through the first stage of selection remotely, without traveling to the capital. He emphasized that over five years of the project, hundreds of young people have had the opportunity to showcase their abilities to teachers of the leading theater university in the country, and the initiative itself helps young people believe in their own strengths and take a step towards a professional future.
