Nizhny Novgorod residents installed more than 100 feeders as part of the social precinct action.
On March 26, 2026, at 15:42, SocietyNizhny Novgorod social district officers held an environmental event to create and install bird feeders. The activities took place in yards, parks, and public areas, bringing together residents of different ages. In Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, and other localities in the region, more than a hundred feeders were installed in total. Participants of the event made and decorated the feeders themselves, after which they placed them in residential areas and green spaces. Children, parents, and representatives of the older generation actively joined the initiative. Organizers note that the key task was not only to help the feathered creatures but also to foster a culture of good deeds, develop a caring attitude towards the environment, and strengthen neighborly ties.
Tatiana Sysoeva, a social district officer from the Soviet district, emphasized that such events help unite residents around simple but meaningful tasks. According to her, people of different ages engage in the process, get to know each other, communicate, and participate together in beautification efforts. "For us, it is important not only to help solve everyday issues but also to create initiatives that enliven yards and form an active community," noted the activist.
The initiative also received expert evaluation. Anastasia Frolova, a bird treatment specialist at the "Zoo Protection-NN" veterinary hospital, pointed out that feeding birds plays an important role in maintaining the urban ecosystem, as their food base is reduced due to human presence. She also highlighted the importance of properly placing feeders and using suitable feed, adding that such projects contribute to the formation of ecological culture among residents.
Residents of the region positively assessed the event, noting that it creates a warm atmosphere and fosters communication among neighbors. Nizhny Novgorod resident Natalia Shchepina shared that such initiatives resonate with her spirit: "For all 45 years of my career, such events have united people for good and right causes, making yards and parks cozier." According to participants, many families joined the event with their children. Parents noted the value of spending time together, while children expressed their willingness to continue monitoring the availability of feed in the feeders. Organizers emphasize that the event became an example of how simple good deeds can unite people, create a comfortable urban environment, and fill public spaces with life. The "Social District Officer" project plans to continue implementing similar initiatives. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
