Mothers and wives of the fallen Nizhny Novgorod soldiers participated in the festival "Women's Heart of Russia."
On March 26, 2026, at 14:22, Society Mothers and wives of deceased participants of the special military operation from the Nizhny Novgorod region attended the first district stage of the All-Russian festival "The Women's Heart of Russia," organized by the State Fund "Defenders of the Fatherland," which took place in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan.
The festival was dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, uniting 160 mothers and wives of participants of the special military operation from 14 regions of the Volga Federal District, representing more than 20 peoples and nationalities of Russia. Nizhny Novgorod region was represented by nine people.
"It is important for the mothers, wives, and sisters of the heroes who stood up to defend the Motherland to feel comprehensive care and attention from the 'Defenders of the Fatherland' fund. Today's festival brought together representatives of different ages, fates, and nationalities. The event became a symbol of love, devotion, and the spiritual strength of those who raise children, keep the family hearth, and remain the main support for their loved ones," noted Anna Tsivileva, State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Chairwoman of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund.
Unique vocal, dance, and poetic performances with national flavor were presented by 14 groups. The festival featured both individual performances by artists and creative numbers by groups consisting of family members of the deceased, missing, or active participants of the special military operation.
"We consider it our mission to be a reliable support for the families of the fallen defenders. We strive not only to help solve current difficulties but also to create conditions for sustainable development and confidence in the future. We remember the feats of their loved ones and will do everything to ensure that the legacy of the heroes lives on. This festival united all women and helped them feel once again that they are not alone," said Ekaterina Generalova, head of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" fund branch in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The women from Nizhny Novgorod presented a creative performance in Russian folk costumes - they sang songs and recited poems. Their performance was met with prolonged applause. For many mothers and wives of the fallen defenders, this appearance on the national stage symbolized a tribute to memory and a return to life, finding a new support in the common cause and mutual support.
"This festival once again showed that creativity has a huge therapeutic effect. We thank Bashkortostan for the warm welcome," said Elena, the wife of a deceased participant of the special military operation.
The State Fund "Defenders of the Fatherland" was established by the Decree of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. Its main goal is the personal support of veterans of the special military operation and the families of heroes. Specialists and social coordinators of the fund assist defenders not only with medical and social rehabilitation but also with retraining and employment, provide legal support, adapt housing to the needs of the disabled, and ensure long-term home care. The fund is headed by State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Anna Tsivileva. Branches of the fund operate in all regions of Russia.
