March 26, 2026 16:30 Society A show match as part of the esports tournament for the game "World of Tanks" "Victory Dictation" took place in the Moscow cluster of video games and animation. The event was organized by "Rostelecom," the Russian Military Historical Society, the "Lesta" studio, the Moscow Creative Industries Agency, and the "Skolkovo" Foundation. Participants in the friendly match included bloggers, gamers, and history teachers. They met in the cyber arena in Skolkovo, where they battled in virtual fights in "Steel Hunter" mode. This mode is used for the qualifying competitions of the first esports tournament "Victory Dictation," dedicated to the namesake educational campaign. Since the start of registration, more than 60,000 people have joined. Alexander Ryakhovsky, director of the office of prospective and partner products at "Rostelecom": "The show match in the video game cluster is part of our large project 'Victory Dictation,' which combines esports and historical education. We attracted professional historians as experts to show that video games can be a tool for preserving historical memory. Today, more than 60,000 participants are already competing in the qualifying competitions." Boris Sinitsky, product director of "World of Tanks": "The cyber tournament gives people from different professions a chance to get to know each other: no matter what they do in their daily lives, they will have one common goal at the tournament and many topics to discuss afterward. Tournaments for the game 'World of Tanks' are held regularly, as it is a great way to organize an event that engages a large number of participants. The special tournament held in Skolkovo was no exception." Gulnara Agamova, head of the Moscow Creative Industries Agency: "The Moscow cluster of video games and animation is a key venue for the industry with a cyber arena and the largest media screen in Russia for esports broadcasts. The show match clearly demonstrated that video games are not only entertainment but also an effective educational tool that unites generations and helps study history in an interactive format." Alexey Kalenchuk, director of digital creative industries at the "Skolkovo" Foundation: "The special tournament as part of the 'Victory Dictation' project is an example of how video games and esports work as tools of enlightenment, preserving historical memory in a language understandable to the younger generation. Matches in 'Steel Hunter' mode have become not only a fight for victory but also a tribute to the heroes of the past. We look forward to everyone ready to connect games and history at our large cyber tournament 'Victory Dictation'." (12+) NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
